Frightened Rabbit

To start off... amazing band! Their sound is refreshing, suppressing anything I have heard in the past 6 months. Songs like "Good Arms Vs. Bad Arms" and "Modern Leper" start off with Scott Hutchison carrying the song with his phenomenal lyrics and vocals into unique drum beats produced by his brother Grant. The songs then open up with Billy Kennedy on guitar (who plays through an ampeg giving the song the bass that it needs) and Andy Monaghan on Keyboards/guitar who ties the songs together. Every song off this record is a gem, I have been hooked on the first 8 songs though off "Midnight Organ Fight" since I bought the record 3 months ago. I then discovered the song "Poke" the other day, a soft spoken song about a past relationship that is gorgeous. The thing that Scott does as a songwriter that lacks in today's modern music is that he is completely honest in a manner that makes the listener think about the meaning behind the lyrics. With lines like "A cripple walks amongst you all you tired human beings/Hes got all the things a cripple has not working arms and legs". Arizona was lucky enough to be embraced by Frightened Rabbit's presence this past Tuesday at the Rhythm Room. They gave their fans and drunkards an amazing show. This band deserves anything good coming to them. Hope you enjoy them! Time to go watch the Russia V. Spain game. Go Spain!
